Twinkle Khanna launches her own production banner with Balki’s next

Actress turned author Twinkle Khanna has now decided to dip her hands once again into films. While the actress has time and again asserted that she wouldn’t return to acting, she will now turn producer under a new banner Mrs. Funnybones Movies.

Readers may be aware that Twinkle got her name as Mrs. Funnybones after she turned columnist in 2014 and her witty, quirky style of writing received rave reviews. The rising fame made her an author with the first book titled ‘Mrs. Funnybones’. Now with the production house by the same name, the first film will star the actress turned producer’s superstar husband Akshay Kumar in the leading role. Talking about the same a source says, “It’s Twinkle’s concept that will be entirely developed by Balki who is writing the script, screenplay and dialogues. Twinkle will not be involved in the writing process.The film goes on the floors in March next year.” When asked about the film, Akshay said jokingly, “She (Twinkle) is the producer and I will work on a salary.”

Earlier we had mentioned that the film will also have Amitabh Bachchan, R. Balki’s lucky mascot in a cameo. Apparently, the idea for the film was conceptualized by Twinkle Khanna and the script revolving around the same is being developed by Balki. However, other details of the film are being kept under wraps.

It is also being said that there two slate of films being planned under the Mrs. Funnybones banner, one for mainstream commercial cinema and the other is for the offbeat-parallel genre. R. Balki’s film also stars Sonam Kapoor in the lead along with Radhika Apte and it is slated to go on floor in March next year.

On the other hand, Twinkle Khanna had previously produced films like Tees Maar Khan, Patiala House, Thank You, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.
